  • Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES: Provide the student with an in-depth knowledge of the new trends and new scientific analyzes used by Italian and international Medieval Archeology. Develop the skills of evaluation and critical reading of archaeological texts. Learn to decipher the meaning of medieval objects, monuments and urban landscapes, as well as to use the results of scientific analyzes KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: knowledge and understanding of the transformations of the material world and of the different techniques to know it ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: it aims to provide the student with the necessary skills for a correct chronological, economic, social and cultural evaluation of the universe of objects, landscapes and ecofacts (plants, animals, human bodies) of the Middle Ages AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: it is expected to stimulate critical skills through the systematic comparison between different theories and methodological approaches. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: the lectures are always followed by a debate on the topics covered. During or at the end of the module, students are asked to present and critically comment on a short essay or part of the manual. In this way it is therefore intended to create participatory teaching, which also allows the acquisition of a specific technical language of historical-archaeological research. LEARNING ABILITY: Lectures and discussion of specialized texts are aimed at learning to understand the meaning of the material world, however and in any era it manifests itself.
