  • Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES: initial and basic knowledge of the medieval latin literature. This course provide the students with a survey on the history of literature in the Middle Ages and makes them able to analyze medieval Latin texts. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: knowledge is expected to be acquired in the following fields: Medieval History and Literature, the production of manuscripts and codexes in the Middle Ages. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: students will be able to analyze and recognize the cultural contexts of medieval Latin works, be they printed or handwritten. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: students will be able to frame a given text in the proper historic, geographic, cultural and philologic context. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: to be able to use proper and specific language when talking about medieval Latin literature will be one of the main outcomes of this course.
