Objectives: History of Education: thinkers, ideals, tradition mod. A - 6 CFU M-PED/02 LEARNING OUTCOMES: The course has one principal aim: to reach an understanding of educational ideas of our Occidental tradition. The framework will be the Italian context, in the larger scenario marked by European and international dynamics. We will offer an overview about the most important Academic Societies devoted to history of education in Italy and in Europe. Furthermore, during the lessons, some online resources for a better understanding the development of educational thought. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: knowledge and understanding of historical development of Western education APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: systematic reading of classical work of our educational tradition MAKING JUDGEMENTS: interpretation of educational works, making reference to their historical context
