  • Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES: The course aims to provide the basic contents of the discipline through the study of the greek epigraphic and historical sources. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: development of an adequate awareness of the specificity of the historical and epigraphic approach. In particular historical development of Greek alphabetical writing and its use in ancient Greek society; acquisition of the methodology of analysis of Greek epigraphy; ability to recognize various typologies of Greek inscriptions and to fill out a scientific form. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: acquisition of argumentative skills about the topics studied; ability to set up problems making use of the tools of a rational way of argumentation. The student will be able to read, epigraphic texts, and he will acquire knowledge on how to record epigraphic data and to find specific bibliographical material. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: Through the study of epigraphical documents and practice on these, the student will be able to historically evaluate ancient Greek inscriptions COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Students will clearly communicate, through the use of the specialized vocabulary, their knowledge on greek epigraphical sources LEARNING SKILLS: Students will show their ability to learn through verbal contributions during the course and through personal reflections.
