Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of theatre and performance history and ability to analyse their sources and documents. Basic English knowledge.
Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES: The course will provide students with a sound knowledge of issues and problems related to contemporary theatre and performance practices and the processes of their documentation and transmission. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: The aim of the course is the development of historical, theoretical and methodological skills for the critical analysis of sources and documents of performances and art actions and for their adequate historical and disciplinary contextualisation. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: At the end of the course the student(s): know how to identify fundamental theoretical and critical issues in the debate around contemporary performance and its transmission, and know how to apply appropriate tools and methods to the analysis of its documentation. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: The methodological tools adopted in the course will allow the student to develop a good autonomy of judgement as well as an ability to reflect on aesthetic and socio-cultural aspects related to the themes of the course. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: The student should be able to communicate what has been learnt during the course with expressive mastery, adequately using the scientific terminology in use within theatre and performance studies. LEARNING SKILLS: Through the proposed activities, students will acquire autonomous judgement and communication skills using with mastery the scientific terminology in use within theatre and performance studies.
