  • Objectives: a) Historical recon of social networks and their role in the modern information society b) Analysis about the diffusion of information contents on the web and social media c) Analysis of disinformation dynamics and the construction of enthymematic processes d) Operating principles of social network algorithms e) How to develop critical judgement towards web and social contents. f) Filter bubbles, Echo Chamber, Confirmation Bias, Polarization, and other phenomena. g) Narratives on the network; the Constructivist approach. h) Digital narrative clustering phenomena i) Source identification and selection, with particular reference to scientific and institutional sources. j) Fact-checking, critical selection and best practices. k) Examples and laboratory exercises.
