  • Objectives: LEARNING OUTCOMES: The course aims to give students the knowledge of the European food, law related to the aspects of production and marketing of food, with particular attention to the rules on food safety, information and food quality. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:The lessons will provide students with knowledge and understanding of international, European and national regulatory sources of food law; of the European food law system, its principles and its main rules, with particular attention to the rules on safety, information and food quality; knowledge of the most current issues concerning food. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: : the student will acquire the tools to orient themselves in the vast field of food law, to relate rules coming from different sources (international, European, national and regional), to read and interpret the main regulations and directives underlying food law, as well as some significant judgments of the EU Court of Justice and national courts MAKING JUDGEMENTS: The student will be able to orientate in the complex field of food law, to relate the rules coming from different sources, to understand and interpret the different rules that companies in the food and wine sector must comply with, as well as opportunities for protection and enhancement of quality of food products.
