  • Prerequisites: It is necessary to own the basics of general culture, with particular reference to the history of the industry of culture, to be familiar with reading, in any form and content (literary and scientific texts, monographs and periodicals, both on paper and digital). It is required the customary use of the Internet and Web and, in addition to the basic functions of the softwares, for the management of documents, presentations and database.
  • Objectives: Acquire the knowledge and the related skills necessary to the organization and fundamental to the workings of the publishing industry. Develop the critical knowledge needed to face with the transition to digital publishing: from changes in production techniques to changing communicating strategies, marketing tools and the distribution of cultural content. Consistent with the training objectives of the granting Study Program, the training activity of this course aims to provide the student with: - knowledge and ability to understand the main dynamics of the contemporary publishing market; - terminological and conceptual skills necessary to orientate themselves in the debate concerning the digital transition in all its manifestations; - knowledge and skills related to the communication and information system in Italy and in Europe as well as the management and organizational methods of publishing companies; - critical autonomy and knowledge processing, aimed at a conscious insertion into the contemporary publishing scene; - ability to learn through texts of various kinds, in particular short essays that solicit further personal investigations.
