  • Objectives: The aim of the course is to provide to the students a general overview of the topics addressed in the field of Sanitary Environmental Engineering, and basic theoretical concepts concerning: pollution parameters for environmental compartments (with particular regard to water), analysis of chemical and biological kinetics, mass balances applied to natural and engineered systems, and the main physical, chemical and biological unit operations employed for the treatment of contaminated environmental compartments (with particular regard to water). Besides knowledge on the above mentioned topics, the students are expected to acquire and master specific technical vocabulary and be able to analyse and evaluate the general qualitative state of a water sample, discussing the potential treatments that may be applied to address the identified critical issues.
