  • Prerequisiti: Students are requested to pass a language practice course ("LETTORATO") exam before they are allowed to sit for the final oral exam with the titular lecturer.
  • Obiettivi: LEARNING OUTCOMES: Linguistic competence: CEFR level C1.3. Extralinguistic competence: the module aims at introducing the field of stylistics from a theoretical, methodological and critical perspective KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Knowledge and understanding in different and specialized communicative contexts; comprehension and analysis of the main stylistic features of a given text. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Students will use knowledge and understanding in different and specialized communicative contexts in order to produce oral and written texts, and, in particular, to analyse stylistic phenomena. MAKING JUDGEMENTS: Students will acquire methodological, historical and theoretical knowledge of stylistics and will be asked to critically engage in stylistic commentary of different types of texts. They will be encouraged to expand their cultural horizons and to critically engage with new perspectives, in a process of intellectual growth and academic maturation. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Communicative skills are an essential aspect of this course, as students are requested to express themselves in advanced English used in a wide variety of linguistic, metalinguistic and literary contexts. LEARNING SKILLS: students will develop proper instruments about linguistic and literary research and particularly about stylistics. This will allow them to analyse and interpretate autonomously a wide variety of texts.
